Thank you for your interest in our Gallery. We have been owner/operated for over 15 years in Midtown Sacramento. We strive to provide the community with passionate, well-executed, original artwork that speaks a positive and evoking message. We display most medias, but are focused on Oil, Acrylic and Watercolor on Canvas or Paper.

If you would like to be considered for a show, we ask for the following:

   1. An introduction email, telling us about your vision, your experience and your theme for a show. Please include a file of one or two pieces of your artwork that best represents your style and theme.

   2. Upon review, we will contact you via email to set up an appointment. We will require two to three pieces to view in person during the interview.

   3. To qualify for a show, you must have 10 - 15 pieces, depending on size, a cohesive theme in the pieces subject matter, and an applied understanding of the use of color, technique and balance.

Framing is not required, but a finished canvas is recommended.

The owners of The Barton Gallery have the final say in acceptable themes and qualifying artwork. Once your artwork has been accepted for a show and a month has been selected, the artist will be required to deliver and pick-up paintings on agreed-upon dates.

Artists must provide a list of names, sizes, medias and pricing of the pieces, plus a jpeg file of at least 300dpi for promotional usage. The Barton Gallery will provide mailer postcards and will arrange and hang the show for Second Saturday opening. A Thursday night Family/Friends private opening is an available option.

The Barton Gallery works on consignment, and has a 60%/40% agreement with all artists for pieces sold.

Again, thank you for your interest and we look forward to viewing your submissions.
